Kilimanjaro Eco Lodge is an ecological and socially responsible resort set in a quiet and tranquil area next to Arusha national park, nestled in the saddle between Tanzania’s famous Mt Kilimanjaro and Mt Meru.
At Kilimanjaro Eco Lodge you can sit back and relax in our lush organic garden of about 3 hectares above a small gorge filled with impressive giant trees of rain forests bustling with bird life and the occasional Vervet or Colobus monkey. This is the ideal place to go out and explore the beautiful, diverse natural surroundings, get in touch with Tanzanian culture and traditions in the nearby villages or enjoy an amazing coffee experience at a local coffee farm.
At Kilimanjaro Eco Lodge we have beautiful tropical gardens perfect for a stroll or just relaxing in the shade or sun whichever tickles your fancy. We not only have gorgeous flowering plants and indigenous trees and shrubs, we also grow our own bananas, Papaya, Mango, citrus fruit and Macadamia nuts. We cook with organically grown vegetables from our own garden, produce our own manure and in general strive to be as self sustaining as possible. In our efforts to provide and promote environmentally friendly tourism, we separate organic and non-organic waste, use local and seasonal produce whenever possible and produce our own organic vegetables and fruits.
At Kilimanjaro Eco Lodge we are committed to improving the economic situation of the surrounding community by employing staff from the villages around us and promoting cultural exchange programs with students from USA, Canada and the Netherlands.
